Asante Africa is an exhibit of work that originated with Tim Banks' excitement about his travels in Tanzania, Ethiopia, and Ghana.  Tim describes the motivation behind the title as follows.

"In Swahili, 'asante' means thank you.  This exhibit is a thank you to Africa.

Asante Africa--for the adventures ,the wonderful people, the animals, the mountains and the plains.

Asante Africa--for the unbelievable beauty, the inspiration, and the encouragement to try to record that experience in art."

Tim's imaginative and evocative watercolors are complemented by works in all media by other members of Points of View.  In particular, Carolyn Judson will show her work depicting elephants - marvelous, social animals threatened in many ways by a rapidly changing Africa.

Works reflective of Africa will be on all three floors of the gallery.  Meet the artists and see their work at the reception on Friday, October 12, from 5 to 8 pm.
