Works by Points of View Artist Barbara Snapp will be shown in Pouring It On at the Merrymeeting Arts Center Gallery in Bowdoinham this May.  This acrylic art exhibit is offered by Linda Murray and the students who have taken her classes on the techniques of pouring acrylic paint to create unique, abstract, and dynamic patterns.  Acrylic paint is mixed with a pouring medium to make it fluid and then poured onto a canvas without using a brush.  The canvas is tilted and moved in various ways to guide the paint flow and create different effects - often unpredictably.  Finally, paint can be brushed onto the dry surface to bring out the images that emerge.

Merrymeeting Art Center Gallery is open on Saturdays from 10 am to 2 pm.  Pouring It On will be on display May 3, 10, 17, and 24.  The reception will be held on May 10 from 10 am to 2 pm.
