• 10X10 Brunswick 2012 benefit show is coming in September - and Tim Banks' watercolor is on the poster

Arts Are Elementary and Points of View Artists celebrate the fifth year of their successful benefit art exhibit and sale with works by over 175 Maine artists, including 10 special guest artists whose works will be auctioned off as part of the event.  One 10" x 10" original artwork will be offered by each of the following well-known Maine artists:  John Bisbee, Katherine Bradford, David Cedrone, Rebecca Goodale, Dahlov Ipcar, Sally Loughridge, Jerry Day Mason, Andrea Sulzer, Mark Wethli, Henry Wolyniec.

Points of View artist Tim Banks has also been honored with the selection of his watercolor Pisa, A Different View as the representative image for the 2012 10X10 Brunswick event.  Tim carries his watercolor paints with him wherever he travels to make sketches that he later turns into finished paintings in his studio in Brunswick.  In his close-up view of this famous landmark Tim highlights the gorgeous colors found in the stonework with his masterful blending of colors from a limited palette.

The second place painting was created by storybook illustrator Charlotte Agell and is another watercolor titled To the Lighthouse.  In third place is Blue Mountain Serenity by Eve Hladky.

The 10X10 Art Show & Benefit will be held from 5-8 pm on Friday, September 28, 2012.  Art work will be for sale that evening only in two venues:  Curtis Memorial Library (23 Pleasant Street, Brunswick) and St Paul’s Episcopal Church (27 Pleasant Street, Brunswick).  The art can be previewed at both locations on Thursday, September 27 from 5-8 pm, and on Friday, September 28 from 12 noon to 3 pm.
