    Points of View Gallery
    Featuring Barbara Bean

Points of View artist Barbara Bean has been exploring new ways of using mixed media in this exhibit in the 3rd floor Garret Gallery, on display from May 24 through June 25.  Barbara makes full use of the materials in her home studio, including paints, paper, fiber, metal, wood.  She often uses lost and broken parts from found objects and antiques to create her altered works using “all the staff that makes me happy.”

In Experiments in Mixed Media, Barbara includes several assemblages using these materials and a set of floral paintings.  The floral paintings provide a strong contrast to her altered works.  She created them in a condensed period of time, painting familiar blossoms and inventing novel shapes from her extensive experience in floral imagery over many years.

There will be there will be a reception for the exhibit on June 11 from 5 to 7 pm.  The gallery is also open on weekdays from 9 am to 5 pm.
