Barbara Bean and her sister Jackie Melissas are exhibiting together at Gallery Framing during the month of March.  Both sisters are professional artists who grew up in New England. Barbara has been a Brunswick resident since 2003 and Jackie will be moving here this summer.  The exhibit - their first together - is a fitting way to celebrate their continued exploration of art and new collaboration.  In this exhibit each artist uses her preferred medium to share their common interests in nature, the garden and the ground from which their art is created.  Jackie is an established ceramic artist on the faculty of the North Shore Country Day School in Winnetka, Illinois.  Barbara works in mixed media, printmaking, assemblage, and artist books.  She is a member of the Points of View Gallery at the Brunswick Business Center and also of the Old Post Office Gallery in Georgetown.  Barbara is also seen as a juried member of the Cambridge Art Association in Massachusetts.

Images of their work in Common Roots can be seen at the Gallery Framing website:  www.galleryframinginc.com

Summary:

This sisterly duo exhibits together for the first time, using ceramic sculpture and drawing to explore their common love of nature, the garden and the earth.
