Alan Mast and Ed McCartan team up to push the limits in their art, testing new methods, new materials and new ideas.

Alan says of his art:  "My works in the show are diverse, but each one explores an idea that captured me as I worked. Some were executed directly, but most are 'layered' paintings, the result of one version overlaying another. All are concerned with formal structure, but basically are images conjured up by paint, collage, and markings.  The titles come only when the painting is finished."

Ed comments that "I like to work in a variety of media, and often incorporate stencils, collage and prints onto the painted surfaces.  Subjects range from fantasy images to botanical studies.  I often put two themes together in one work, letting them resonate with each other.  My work is an ongoing exploration of what is within and without."

Join us on July 12 from 5-8 pm to meet these two artists and view their bold work.
