Lucy's Funky Fish are assemblages on Maine driftwood.  Each one is a one-of-a-kind piece.  The process involves gathering, sorting, imagining, creating.  As I beachcomb I'm amazed at the visible character that can be found in just an ordinary piece of random driftwood.  It may be the grain of the wood or the little missing wedge that catches my eye, because it resembles a fish.  Each fish is embellished with found and salvaged items that range from shells, wires, buttons, and vintage jewelry to rusty nails, flattened bottle caps, and - my favorite - broken plastic pieces from car tail lights.
